Normally I try to begin each week by posting a longer piece, but I didn’t send anything out yesterday and just wanted to let you know why. My latest letter, which looks at the idea of the South, and what it means to me to be “Southern” these days, has turned into a connected series of posts, and is taking longer than I originally expected to pull together. There’s some family history here! Look for it later this week. Then, I hope, we’ll get back to the regular twice-a-week schedule.
